PGC 26918 (= ESO 565-11)
A 13th-magnitude lenticular galaxy (type (R)SB0(r)a pec) in
Hydra (RA 09 29 16.4, Dec -20 22 45)
Based on a recessional velocity of 4720 km/sec, PGC 26918 is about 220 million light years away. Given that and its apparent size of 1.6 by 1.2 arcmin, it is about 100 thousand light years across. Used by the de Vaucouleurs Atlas of Galaxy Types as an example of galaxy type (R1')SB(rs)a.
