PGC 71501
(with
PGC 71502, = ESO 240-004)
A magnitude 14.9 spiral galaxy (type SB(s)m: sp) in Phoenix (RA 23 27 53.1, Dec -51 07 55)
Note About PGC Designation: Although this is a single galaxy, the original PGC assigned separate entries (and HyperLEDA therefore assigned separate pages) to the nucleus (PGC 71501) and a "knot" on the southeastern side of the galaxy (PGC 71502); but the ESO designation applies to the entire galaxy.
Note About Classification: The type is taken from the Spitzer Survey of Stellar Structure in Galaxies.

PGC 71502
(with
PGC 71501, = ESO 240-004)
A knot on the southeastern end of ESO 240-004
Since this is part of the same galaxy as PGC 71501, see that entry for anything else.

PGC 71534 (=
NGC 7678 = Arp 28)
(= UGC 12614 = CGCG 476-045 = MCG +04-55-017)

A magnitude 11.8 spiral galaxy (type SAB(rs)c?) in Pegasus (RA 23 28 27.9, Dec +22 25 17)
For anything else, see NGC 7678

PGC 71748 (with its faint "companion" =
Arp 46)
A 15th-(B)magnitude spiral galaxy (type SB(rs)d pec) in Pegasus (RA 23 33 38.6, Dec +30 02 20)
Listed as Arp 46, as an example of a spiral galaxy with a faint companion. The companion, at RA 23 33 40.0, Dec +30 02 48, is listed in NED as ARP 046 NED02, with a note stating that it has a redshift more than 1000 km/sec greater than PGC 71748, which would put it at least 45 million light years further away, or make it something just "passing through"; however, given the distorted shape of the larger galaxy, it is possible that they are a currently interacting pair. Based on a recessional velocity of 5375 km/sec, PGC 71748 is about 250 million light years away, in reasonable agreement with redshift-independent distance estimates of 185 to 225 million light years. Given that and its apparent size of 1.2 by 0.9 arcmin, it is about 85 thousand light years across.

PGC 71753
A 13th-magnitude spiral galaxy (type Scd) in
Pegasus (RA 23 33 49.3, Dec +30 03 36)
Based on recessional velocity of 3795 km/sec, about 170 million light years away, in reasonable agreement with redshift-independent distance estimates of 125 to 165 million light years. Given that and apparent size of 1.4 by 0.8 arcmin, about 70 thousand light years across.

PGC 71948
(= PGC 129982 = PGC 496757 = ESO 240-011)

A magnitude 12.4 spiral galaxy (type Sb: sp) in
Phoenix (RA 23 37 49.5, Dec -47 43 39)
Note About Classification: The type is taken from the Spitzer Survey of Stellar Structure in Galaxies.
