PGC 85597
A 17th-magnitude spiral galaxy (type S) in Pegasus (RA 23 39 01, Dec +27 12 59)
Part of Abell 2634, the Pegasus II cluster of galaxies. Based on recessional velocity of 9030 km/sec, about 400 million light years away. Given that and apparent size of 0.35 by 0.25 arcmins, about 40 thousand light years in diameter. The closeup below shows PGC 85597, 85599, 85600, and 1801452. See PGC 72000 for a wide-field view of the region near these galaxies.

PGC 85599
A 16th-magnitude elliptical galaxy (type E) in Pegasus (RA 23 39 05, Dec +27 12 28)
Probably part of Abell 2634, the Pegasus II cluster of galaxies. If so, a little over 400 million light years away. Given that and apparent size of 0.7 by 0.2 arcmins, about 80 thousand light years in diameter. See PGC 85597 for a closeup of PGC 85599, and PGC 72000 for a wide-field view of the region near these galaxies. |
PGC 85600
A 16th-magnitude spiral galaxy (type S0) in Pegasus (RA 23 39 07, Dec +27 12 20)
Part of Abell 2634, the Pegasus II cluster of galaxies. Based on recessional velocity of 9715 km/sec, about 430 million light years away. Given that and apparent size of 0.45 by 0.35 arcmins, about 55 thousand light years in diameter. See PGC 85597 for a closeup of PGC 85600, and PGC 72000 for a widefield view of the region near it. |
